The way I see it is that there is still artistic freedom in America. The reaction to the New Yorker cartoon below
will run a gamut of our feelings and expressions from total acceptance of an artist’s Illustration that is creative, funny and enjoyable to uninteresting and despicable.
We have portrayed President Bush as a blubbering idiot and many other not very flattering characters. No one is untouchable when he/she chooses to become a public servant. We cannot afford to give that luxury to Obama or any other public servant for that matter.
We can channel our feelings along various other avenues.
If I were a cartoonist, I would portray Cindy and John McCain as Mr. and Mrs. Smith – Assassins, destroying the American Dream on their way to their own and gratification.
Maybe some other great cartooninst will give creative expression to my vision.
